What would it mean to you to never have to work again or to never have to stress about how much you make, save or spend? These are just some of the perks of becoming financially free and while most people dream of achieving this degree of financial success one day, unfortunately many people won’t and it comes down to one common reason that most of us struggle with. Fortunately, today I’m going to share with you what that reason is and how to overcome it so that you can keep your dream of financial freedom alive and well!

What if I told you that every second person you cross paths with at the office didn’t want to be there? If you have yet to join the workforce then chances are this is a hard concept to wrap your head around but for those who have been working for at least a few years, this is probably quite believable. While I hate to say it, between low wages and longer work hours, the working conditions that many of us operate in on a daily basis have only declined over the past few decades to a point where people simply no longer want to work. Now, this lack of enthusiasm around work isn’t just a feeling I have.

A 2019 Gallup study found that 52% of people are not engaged at work, and no I don’t mean they are about to get married, I mean they literally don’t have any passion for what they do. This means that every day, they are dragging themselves into work and trading their precious time for an unmemorable paycheck every two weeks. So, why am I talking about the gripes of 9–5 life you may be wondering? Because this disdain for work is why so many people want to achieve financial freedom and never have to work again!

Now, chances are you too have thought about what your life would be like if you could hand in your two weeks notice at work and enter a life of 100% personal time. Don’t worry I have too and let me tell you it looks like it would be an amazing time. Unfortunately, for most people, this dream will only ever remain a dream but not for the reasons one would think.

If you ask most people, they will give you one of three reasons as to why they are struggling to reach this peak of financial independence. The first is debt. I’ll admit that life is now set up in a way where getting into debt is basically unavoidable. Most people start their adult lives in thousands…
